Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryLT. GEORGE EDWARD BLAKE ROBERTSON It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of George Edward Blake Robertson, known to all as "Geordie". He lost his battle with cancer at his residence on September 25th, 2004. Geordie was born in Pilot Mound on December 31, 1940. He took his early schooling in Wood Bay and high school in Pilot Mound. As a young man he decided to stay home and help on the farm, eventually taking over a portion of the farm from his father. In January, 1971 he came to Snow Lake and hired on with Hudsons Bay Mining and Smelting. He worked in several mines till his retirement in 1994. He and wife Audrey enjoyed summers at their cottage at Wekusko Lake and winters in Mesa, Arizona until 1999 when Geordie became very ill with vasculitis. He had a tough battle over the next three years and was just recovering when he was diagnosed with lung cancer in December, 2003. Geordie was a member of the Snow Lake Legion where he enjoyed afternoon coffee breaks, and visiting with friends. He was a Life Member of the Snow Lake Lions Club. In 1999, he was honoured by the RCMP for his assistance at a tragic boating accident on Wekusko Lake. He was a honorary life member of the Snow Lake Curling Club where he put in many hours over the years helping with the ice making and working in the club room. His love of curling kept him active and he continually encouraged young people to become involved in this sport. Geordie was predeceased by his father John Boyd and mother Christina. Geordie is survived by his beloved wife Audrey, loving daughter Tammie and husband Greg Dueck of Winnipeg. Brother Harvey (Wendy) Robertson of Pilot Mound, sister Barbara Argue of Carberry. Sister-in-laws Dorothy (Clare) Geddes and Mona Hughson of Pilot Mound, Joyce Raitt of Nanaimo, BC, brother-in-law Jim (Myrtle) McTaggart of Kelowna, BC, many nieces and nephews. Cremation has taken place, internment to follow at a later date. A service was held in Snow Lake on September 29, 2004 and was attended by many friends and family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Anglican United Church of Snow Lake Building Fund. (Box 185 Snow Lake, MB. R0B 1M0) He will be sadly missed by those of us who loved him.
