Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryTAMARA (MARTHA) YURKIWSKI May 12, 1923 - September 30, 2004 In memory of a loving wife, mother, grandmother who passed away tragically. Left to mourn her passing are her husband William of 57 years; her daughters, Anne Marie Bell and Vicky Evans (Terry Ryder) and her granddaughters, Tamara and Larissa Evans; her sole surviving sister Rita Pauls (Henry) her many nieces and nephews and many friends. Tamara was predeceased by her loving son Tony in 1997; and her sisters, Anne Woelke, Helen Eck and Maria Wiebe; and her four brothers. Tamara was born in Ukraine on May 12, 1923 - the seventh child of nine children. In 1950, Tamara moved to Old Kildonan where she lived until her death. Tamara and William started and successfully ran a family business - McPhillips Construction Ltd. for over 30 years. Our mother loved to cook and bake - there was always a place at her table and in her heart for all who came. In the summer, her favourite times were spent in the garden and yard. A stroke in 2001 slowed her down temporarily and her "feisty" nature had her back in the garden within a month. A life filled with numerous hardships didnt diminish her indomitable spirit and she will be remembered as - always active, always caring, always giving. Our thanks to the attending police and Health Sciences Centre emergency staff. Id like the memory of me to be a happy one, Id like to leave an afterglow of smiles when life is done, Id like to leave an echo whispering softly down the ways, Of happy times and laughing times and bright and sunny days, Id like the tears of those who grieve to dry before too long, And cherish those very special memories to which I belong. Visitation will be Monday, October 4 from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the chapel of Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main St. Funeral service to be held on Tuesday, October 5 at 2:00 p.m. also in the chapel. Interment at Glen Eden Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, 200-6 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB R3L 0K6. Arrangements entrusted to: GLEN EDEN FUNERAL HOME 4477 MAIN STREET 338-7111 Family and friends are invited to sign the Book of Condolences at www.gleneden-mb.ca
