Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMADGE ELLEN GRIFFITHS Passed away peacefully at her home in Toronto with her loving husband William by her side on Friday, October 1, 2004 in her 89th year. Madge was a devoted mother to Vicki and Debbie and dearly loved her grandchildren, Rebecca, David, Jacqueline, Faith and Angela. Madge was a graduate of the University of Saskatchewan, Saskatoon in Dietetics in 1938 and subsequently did post graduate work at the Vancouver General Hospital. She worked at the Rosetown Hospital in 1940 where she met her husband Bill and then became the head dietician at Saskatoon General in 1942. She joined the RCAF in 1943 and was posted to England where she was the Messing Officer at the Repat Depot in Torquay, Devon, England. She married Bill in an RCAF ceremony in Torquay in 1945. Together they returned to Canada, living in Vancouver, Saskatoon and finally Winnipeg where they spent most of their years together. Madge was a constant force of strength and inspiration to Williams successful business career. She was a member of the Womens Auxiliary of St. Aidens Church in Winnipeg and dearly loved the regular meetings with her Investment Club. She also participated in the school outreach program of the Winnipeg Art Gallery. Madge and Bill moved to Toronto in 1997 to be closer to their children and grandchildren. She will be sadly missed by all. A memorial service will be held at Grace Church on-the-Hill, Toronto on Wednesday, October 6 at 2:00 p.m. If desired, donations may be made to The Alzheimer Society of Canada, 20 Eglinton Ave. West, Suite 1200, Toronto, ON M4R 1K8.
