RALPH CASEY HORDYSKI May 22, 1945 - October 2, 2004 It is with deep sadness that we announce the unexpected but peaceful passing of Ralph on Saturday, October 2, 2004. Left to cherish his memory is his beloved wife Grace; son Rob (Mandy) daughter Sheila (Nathan) Bostick; granddaughter Samantha Hordyski; his parents Charles and Adelene; brothers and sisters, Kasper (Phyllis), Alex, Joe (Linda), Edward (Tracey), Patrick (Donna), Patricia (Gavin) Martens, Margaret (Leonard) Yungwirth, Stephen (Pearl) his in-laws Irma (Eric) Werner, Lynette (Lenard) Kowalke, Merilyn (Michael) Molinski, Cheryl (Frank) Behrendt, along with many nieces, nephews and friends. Ralph was predeceased by his sister Theresa; brother Christopher; his grandparents, Joseph and Barbara Horodyski, Mike and Mary Calyniuk; and his father-in-law and mother-in-law Paul and Olga Otto. Ralph was born, raised and received his schooling in the Prince Albert, SK area. After graduating he moved to Winnipeg and worked at C.N.R. for several years. Ralph and Grace were married on May 1, 1971 and their marriage was blessed with two children. The Hordyski family moved to Selkirk, MB in 1976 and became members of the Notre Dame parish at that time. Ralph was actively involved with the 3rd and 4th Degree Knights of Columbus. He spent 25 years at Stony Mountain Penitentiary as a Correctional Officer, and was presently working part-time at Genes Gunsmithing and Brinks Canada. Some of Ralphss many interests were golfing, hunting, fishing, archery, and curling. He enjoyed singing with the church choir and also the Selkirk Community Choir. Ralph loved spending time with his family and was very proud of his beautiful granddaughter. Prayers and viewing will be held on Thursday, October 7 at 8:00 p.m. in the Notre Dame Roman Catholic Church, 269 Jemima St., Selkirk. Funeral Mass will be held Friday, October 8 at 10:30 a.m. also in the Church. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Ralphs memory to the Notre Dame Parish or the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
