VIOLET HOWE(nee COCKLE) Peacefully on October 1, 2004 at River East Personal Care Home, aged 94 years. Violet was born October 5, 1909 at Cartwright, MB. She was predeceased by her husband Fred on January 26, 1966; her brothers, Raymond, Tom, Steve, and Jack; and sisters, Ena Bresch, Irene Atkinson and Edith Green. Violet is survived by her daughter Barbara Baird (Burlington, ON) sons, Fred (Kathryn) (Winnipeg, MB) and Robert (Lillian) (Neudorf, SK) grandchildren, Scott Howe (Edenwold, SK), Kelly Anderson (Souris, MB), Wendy Voskuil (Oakville, ON), Brian Baird (Saskatoon, SK), Dustin Howe (Edmonton, AB) and Victoria Howe (Winnipeg) ten great-grandchildren; one brother Earl Cockle (Winnipeg) two sisters-in-law, Jean Howe (British Columbia) and Gladys Cockle (Winnipeg) and numerous nephews and nieces. Violet was President of the Royal Canadian Legion No. 215 Henderson Highway Branch Ladies Auxiliary on several occasions and a lifetime member, an active member of St. Stephens Anglican Church, member of Demolay Mothers, Eager Beavers, and President of the Gable Arms Social Club. At Violets request cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, October 5 at 10:00 a.m. at Klassen Funeral Home, 1897 Henderson Hwy. with Rev. Diane Guilford officiating. A private family interment will follow at Brookside Cemetery. The family wishes to thank the dedicated staff of the "Hope Wing" at the River East Personal Care Home for all their love, care and attention.
