Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryPHILLIP "BUDDY" STEVE MASSEY April 11, 1935 - October 2, 2004 After a lengthy illness on Saturday, October 2, 2004 at the Health Sciences Centre, Phillip Massey, aged 69 years of Selkirk passed away. He was predeceased by his parents, Ted and Mary; brothers, Eddie and Cecil; and brother-in-law Elmor Richert. Phillip is survived by his brother Ken (Maud) of Winnipeg; sisters, Helen Richert and Cecilia of Selkirk; numerous nieces, nephews, relatives; and a longtime friend Merna Charlebois of Winnipeg. Phillip worked on the SS Kenora as a deck hand from 1951 to 1956. In 1956 he started working at the MRM Steel in Selkirk, retiring in 1994. He loved the outdoors, hiking, hunting and fishing. Phillip was proud to be an honorary lifetime member of the Marine Museum. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, October 6 at 2:00 p.m. in the Gilbart Funeral Chapel, Selkirk with Rev. Jeri Bjornson officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, 6-200 Donald St, Winnipeg, MB R3L 0K6.
