Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARY KLASSEN Peacefully, on October 2, 2004 at the Grace Hospital, Mary Klassen went home to be with her Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. Left to cherish her memory are her loving husband Peter and daughters, Carole (David) Toews, Pat (Ed) Penner, Debbie and Sandy (Dale) Morgan. Also surviving are her grandchildren, Stephanie (Toews) and Ryan Gray, Rob and Daisy Penner, Judy (Penner) and Matthew Braun and Emily and Laura Morgan. Mary was predeceased by her parents, her brother John and her sister Anne. Mary was born February 11, 1923 in Herbert, SK. She was the youngest of three children born to John P. and Maria Koslowsky. After several years in Herbert, the family moved to Winnipeg, where her father was employed as a watchmaker for Eatons. She enjoyed a happy childhood and adolescence on Arlington Street in Winnipeg with her family and friends. In 1942, she was baptized upon confession of her faith, in the Assiniboine River, and joined the North End M.B. Church. Mary and Peter met as teenagers, became friends, and their friendship blossomed into love. They corresponded during the war years, and were married on May 26, 1945. In 1948, they moved along with their infant daughter Carole, to British Columbia, settling in the Clearbrook and Abbotsford area. Three more daughters were born to them there. After retirement, they moved back to Winnipeg, to be with their children and grandchildren. After several years of declining health, Mary entered Grace Hospital at the end of July 2004. Her health declined further, and on October 2 angels bore her soul and spirit to heaven. She is now signing the song of the Redeemed to Jesus her Saviour. The family would like to thank Dr. A. N. Schroeder and Dr. J. Joshua and the staff of 3 West at Grace Hospital for their compassionate care. Funeral services will be held Friday, October 8, 10:30 a.m. at the Portage Avenue M.B.
