DERRICK ALLAN OKEMOW Suddenly on Friday, October 1, 2004 at Gods River, Derrick Allan Okemow passed away at the age of 17 years. Derrick was born in Winnipeg on April 27, 1987 and had spent his entire life at Gods River. He was an avid sportsman and enjoyed playing hockey. Derrick had a great talent and loved art. He leaves to cherish his beautiful memory, his parents, Oliver and Geraldine; brothers and sister, Leslie (Yvette), Timothy, Rubena, Cameron; nieces and nephews, Demi, Mariah, Tory, Trenton, Jerrail and Precious; grandparents, Alexander and Hilde Ross. There are numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He was predeceased by his brother Willard; grandparents, Joseph and Elsie Okemow. Prayers were held on Monday, October 4 at 8 p.m. at the Aboriginal Funeral Chapel. Wake services will be held on Tuesday, October 5 and Wednesday, October 6 at Oliver and Geraldine Okemows residence in Gods River, MB. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 7 at 1:00 p.m. at the Gods River Community Hall with Rev. Gilbert North officiating. Interment to follow at Gods River Cemetery.
