Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryNELLIE FREDA REID (nee ARNOTT) Peacefully, on October 5, 2004 at the Grace Hospital Nellie passed away at the age of 93. She is survived by her daughter Margaret (Ray) Winter; son Douglas; three grandchildren, Amanda, Daniel, Jason; and daughter-in-law Janice (Marcel). Nellie was predeceased by her husband Ernie in 1981 and her son Bill in 1984 and her brothers Guy, George, Jim, Clifford and twin brother Bert. Nellie was born to Irish parents Margaret and George Arnott in Swift Current, SK and the family moved to Winnipeg when Nellie was a young girl. She completed high school and started working at Eatons in the workroom where she worked for many years as a talented seamstress and display artist. She and her lifelong friend Isabel Laing worked together to produce the beautiful displays in Eatons windows and the annual Santa Claus Parade. Nellie had many interests and talents. Her beautiful handiwork of crocheted afghans have graced the homes of all of her family, extended family and friends. But, Nellies greatest passion in life was her never-ending love and devotion to her children and grandchildren. She took great pride in sharing stories about her family with everyone she knew. She had the greatest sense of humour and her hearty laugh was contagious and heart-warming. Nellie resided at Arlington House for many years where she made many good friends. We love you and miss you Mum. A memorial service will be held at Neil Bardal, 984 Portage Ave. (entrance on Aubrey Street), on Friday, October 8, at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to CNIB, 1080 Portage Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3G 3M3.
