FIONA ASHLIN CARRUTHERS 1974 - 2004 Fiona, our most beloved daughter and independent spirit, departed this life on October 4, 2004. She leaves a 30 year legacy of priceless memories for Brendan and Barbara, her father and mother, her brother Kevin and sister Deirdre. Also her fiance Danny Stephens and his family, along with her extended families and friends in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, U.S.A., Brazil and Ireland. All will have their own memories of this very special young woman. Fiona was born June 4, 1974, Winnipeg. She delighted in celebrating her Irish roots from her formative years, winning many medals as she celebrated her lifelong involvement with Irish Dancing. A young woman of remarkable creative talent and artistic ability. Fiona graduated with Hons. Fine Arts BA, University of Manitoba. She delighted in expressing her personal view of art in visual form through her photography. Ever a free spirit Fiona found joy in discovering the larger world through her travels and the insightful eye of her camera. She brought with her a spark of brightness and sunshine, with a smile that illuminated her ideals, beliefs and ideas that she ardently shared with all who knew her. Truly, to know Fiona was to love her; as was attested by many friends both far and near that she shared with her fiance Danny. Her sudden tragic death, October 4, 2004 leaves an irreparable void in all our lives. With the most profound sadness and love we leave our beautiful daughter, and friend to so many, in the eternal care of Gods love and mercy. Please God, grant her the peace she sought. With love always: Danny, Alex and Steve, Mom and Dad, Kevin and Deirdre and all the Carruthers and Golden families in Ireland and all of Fionas extended family and friends, who will always remember her smile. A celebration of Fionas life will be held on Friday, October 8 at 1:00 p.m. in the Holy Family Church, 778 Archibald St. In lieu of flowers, we ask that those who wish to donate to World Child Care or any similar childrens aid organization.
