Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryALMA ISABELL HIEBERT (PRIOR) March 3, 1938 - October 4, 2004 Surrounded by the love of her family, our dear angel went to heaven to watch over and care for us. Left with a lifetime of memories are her husband Henry of 48 years; her girls, Marilyn (Ed), Valerie, Verna (John) grandchildren, Katie, Kristie, Travis, Kevin, Colin, Brian, Dylan, Brad; great-grandchildren, Braxtyn and Aidyn; her chosen daughter Brenda (Glenn). Also left to cherish her memory are her brothers, Bart (Linda) Prior, Doug (Pam) Prior and many nieces, nephews and friends. Mom was predeceased by her parents, Jim and Elsie Prior and her brother George. Mom was born in Stonewall and raised in the Marquette area. She attended Meadow Lea School and played hockey and baseball with the local girls teams. She married Henry on July 28, 1956 and they farmed in the Marquette area. Together, they raised their family. Mom was always busy with knitting, crocheting, ceramics, embroidery, quilting, crafts and anything else she could find to do. She was a gifted seamstress who made many wedding, graduation and bridesmaid gowns. She enjoyed music and played guitar, accordian and keyboard. Many Saturday nights were spent with Dad and Mom playing guitars and singing old country songs. In her later years, Mom worked at the Salvation Army in Woodlands. She truly enjoyed her time there. Mom was also a whiz in the kitchen and the grandchildren enjoyed the special food she would prepare for them just because she knew how much they liked it. She got great pleasure from seeing the smiles as someone joined her and Dad for a bowl of chicken soup. Mom also enjoyed the garden and was always busy canning and freezing fruits and vegetables for the winter. In tears we saw you sinking, We watched you fade away, You suffered much in silence, You fought so hard to stay. You faced your task with courage, Your spirit did not bend, But still you kept on fighting, Until the very end. God saw you getting tired, When a cure was not to be, So He put His arms around you, And whispered, "Come to Me". So when we saw you sleeping, So peaceful and free from pain, We could not wish you back, To suffer that again. Prayers will be held on Thursday, October 7 at 7:30 p.m. at MacKenzies Funeral Chapel in Stonewall, MB. A celebration of Moms life will be held on Friday, October 8 at 1:30 p.m. at the Meadow Lea Community Hall. Interment will follow in the Meadow Lea Cemetery. Cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Humane Society or the Meadow Lea United Church. Arrangements entrusted to: MacKENZIE FUNERAL HOME, Stonewall
