JACK HARLOS Peacefully on October 6, 2004 at Concordia Place Care Centre, Jack Harlos passed away at the age of 90 years. Jack was predeceased by his wife Helene on October 29, 1995. Brothers, Henry, Phillip, Ernie and sister Ann also predeceased him. Left to mourn are his sons, Jack, Brad (Donna) and grandchildren, Greg (Sylvie) and Jenna. Jack will also be remembered by his brother Edward (Edith) sister-in-law Stella Didura and extended families. Jack was born in Winnipeg, MB on January 31, 1914, the oldest of six children. Jack attended school in north Winnipeg and Grahamdale, MB where his parents owned a homestead. Jack was employed by Westeel as a welder until his retirement in 1979. After serving overseas for the Canadian Armed Forces during the Second World War, Jack returned home and met Helene, and the two were married on November 30, 1946. Jack took tremendous pride in his home, yard and garden. Patiently each summer, he would watch his prize tomatoes ripen, and then proudly share his efforts. His love of flowers were displayed each summer for all to enjoy. Carpentry was also a favourite hobby of Jacks. Many relatives and friends can attest to his quality workmanship as a carpenter by the numerous rec rooms and garages he helped build. Jack had a love for dogs and spent many hours with his loyal friends by his side. The Sherwood Park Church Seniors Club also provided a great source of entertainment. Papa also spent many hours babysitting his grandchildren whom he truly loved. Sincere thanks go to the caring staff at the Beacon Hill Lodge and Concordia Place Care facility. If friends so desire, in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Winnipeg Firefighters Burn Fund Inc., 303-83 Garry, Winnipeg, MB R3C 4J9. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, October 12 at 1:00 p.m. at Sherwood Park Lutheran Church, 7 Tudor Cres. Arrangements entrusted to: VOYAGE FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORIUM 220 Hespeler Ave. @ Henderson Hwy. 668-3151
