Dr. THEODORE KRAWCHUK, B.Sc., DDS Theodore Krawchuk passed away at Seven Oaks General Hospital on October 6, 2004, after a brief illness at the age of 87. Theodore is survived by his son Daniel and wife Angela; his grandchildren, Stephanie and Jeffrey; as well as his son Alexander and spouse Caroll. Theo was born on February 27, 1917 at Pine River MB where he graduated high school in 1935. After seminary training in Winnipeg, Theo enlisted in the Canadian Army on June 7, 1941. He served during the Second World War with the 18th Reconnaissance Battalion (Armoured) (XII Manitoba Dragoons) in Canada, the United Kingdom and Europe until his release February 13, 1946. Theodore achieved the rank of Lance Corporal and was awarded the 1939-1945 Star, France and Germany Star, Defence Medal, and the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal and clasp. He continued his training at McGill University in Montreal and graduated on May 28, 1953 as a Doctor of Dental Surgery. He then returned to Manitoba, and served the community practicing dentistry from his North Winnipeg office until he retired in 1987. After retirement he took great joy in spending more time with his grandchildren, woodworking, gardening and at his cottage on Lake Manitoba. Throughout his life and into retirement Theodore Krawchuk maintained a strong relationship as a member of Branch 141 of the Royal Canadian Legion and as a parishioner of the Ukrainian Orthodox Cathedral of St. Mary the Protectress.
