Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryPAUL JOHN KUSHNIR On Wednesday, October 6, 2004 at the Holy Family Nursing Home, Winnipeg, MB, Paul Kushnir, 89 years of age, passed away, with his loving wife at his side. Paul was predeceased by his parents, John and Mary Kushnir; brother Mike Kushnir; sisters, Dora Korkash, Nellie Nowicky and Lena Duby. He leaves to mourn his wife Anne and one sister Anne Ortinsky; sons, Gordon (Pat Skrabek), Bob (April), Glen, Randy and daughter Connie; grandchildren, Chrystal, Ashley, Peirce and many nieces and nephews. Paul was born in Winnipeg in 1915. He was working for the Railway, when he met Anne. They decided to make their home in Fraserwood, MB. In 1951 they moved to Winnipeg. Paul left the CPR in 1958 and went to Molar Barber School. He worked at Versatile Manufacturing during the week and on Saturday at Johnnys barbershop on Selkirk Avenue. Pauls calling in life was to cut hair. His dream to finally have his own shop was realized in 1979, on Portage Avenue. Unfortunately Pauls health started to fail and he sold the barbershop in 1988. For the next 15 years with his loving wife Anne, taking care of him they were together at home. With increasing health problems, Paul entered Convalescent Nursing Home in 2003 for a short time. He was then transferred to Holy Family Nursing Home. Anne continued to feed and care for him daily. Without this constant care, Paul would not have been with us as long. The family wishes to thank all of the kind and caring staff on 5A at Holy Family Nursing Home and all the many prayers from the Sisters at Holy Family. Dont grieve for me my children dear, Nor shed for me a single tear It was the Lords appointed time, To call me here from all of mine. In memories garden, Mid our own sacred flowers Thou livest forever Father of ours. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 9 at 10:00 a.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. Interment to follow in Glen Eden Memorial Gardens.
