LUBA BABIJ On Wednesday, October 6, 2004, at St. Boniface Hospital, surrounded by family, Luba went peacefully into the arms of the Lord. Luba Babij (nee Jedynak) was born on September 6, 1936 in Nova Ves, Lemkivshchyna, where she went to school and attained a teaching degree. She came to Canada in 1963 living first in Toronto and settling finally in Winnipeg. She was employed with Canada Customs and Revenue Agency as a Customer Service Clerk until her retirement. Luba was predeceased by her parents and four brothers. She leaves to mourn her three sisters, Olga Pauchok and Stephanie Pizyckyj of Winnipeg and Janina Najka of Poland; numerous nieces and nephews both in North America and abroad. Luba was a very devout Catholic who greatly appreciated visits at home from Fr. Kouts and in the hospital from Fr. Mostivsky. The family would like to pass on their sincere gratitude to Ruth and Mel Bodnarus for their constant attention to Lubas needs throughout the years. Panachyda will be sung 7:00 p.m., Monday, October 11 at Sts. Vladimir and Olga Cathedral, 115 McGregor St. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, October 12, also at the Cathedral with Fr. M. Kouts officiating.
