JEAN CARTWRIGHT C.D. On Wednesday, October 6, 2004, Jean Cartwright passed away at the Health Sciences Centre. She was born on August 30, 1920 in Portage la Prairie and raised in Winnipeg. Jean was predeceased by her beloved husband Al; parents Alan O. and Amy Grant; brothers, George, Alan and Ken; sister Margaret; infant niece Lindsey Love; and brother-in-law Tom Robertson. She is survived by son David Davidson; sisters, Sheila Robertson of Calgary and Betty (Jim) Love; sisters-in-law, Enez and Margaret Grant; many nieces and nephews. Mom worked for Canadian Johns Manville and U.G.G. for many years. She served from 1952 to 1965 in the Technical Regiment R.E.M.E. She enjoyed many years at her cottage in Spruce Sands, MB. She was a member of the #1 Legion for 29 years. She will be missed by all including her neighbours at 522 Sherbrook St. who have done so much. Special thanks to the Health Sciences Centres Dr. Ross Stimpson and Gold Team SICU Step-down Unit GD3, the staff of GD3 and phone operators. Also to Elaine David and Sylvia La Fort for being there, Nancy at the Royal Bank at Sargent and Sherbrook, VON Nurse Kerry for all her time and support and many home care workers. In memory of Mom donations may be made to the Poppy Day Trust Fund, 563 St. Marys Rd., Winnipeg MB R2M 3L6, Winnipeg Humane Society, 5 Kent St., Winnipeg MB R2L 1X3 or to a charity of your choice.
