KENNETH "ARCHIE" FRANK ERNEST DENNER It is with deep regret we announce the passing of our father, grandfather, brother and friend, Ken Denner, on Friday, October 1, 2004, at the Grace General Hospital at the age of 76 years. Dad leaves to mourn his children and grandchildren, Wayne, Ben (Karen) Brian, Donna (Ray) Jason, Michelle, Geoff (LeLaine) brothers, Bob (Mary) and Ron (Ruth) sisters, Patsy Holmes and Doreen Steen; close friend Anne; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Ken was predeceased by his first wife Ruby; second wife Sharon; father Frank; mother Helen; brother Jack; and sister Florence. Ken was born and raised in Stony Mountain. He was employed by and retired from the City of Winnipeg, Parks and Rec Department. Ken met many important people while on this job, as he was involved in many park events in Winnipeg. One of them was Mayor Juba where there was a park opened in his name and Ken was a major player in that park. He was given a plaque in recognition for the work that he had done. Ken took pride in whatever he did. Dad became a member of the Stony Mountain Masonic Lodge # 134 in 1975. In 1981, Ken became Master of the Lodge and from 1984 to 1985, Ken was District Grand Master of the 10th Masonic District. He was involved in many events with the Lodge and was part of many peoples lives during these years. Ken was very proud to be part of this family of men, and was always willing to do whatever had to be done. He also belonged to the Khartum Shriners and received his 25 year pin this year. Ken was a lifetime member of the Oriental Band and it was fun to watch him come down the road during the parades. He was so proud to be part of this family, and we were very proud of him. The fun part was when we would go to see the animals when the circus came to Winnipeg. Some of Dads hobbies were hunting, fishing, camping, curling, football and hockey. Dad will be remembered for his booming voice, but had a gentle and kind heart. Remember the good times, forget the bad times, and live for today. In compliance with Kens wishes, no formal funeral service will be held. At Kens request, a private interment with his children only has taken place. Our family would like to thank the staff on the 3rd Floor at Extendicare for all the care and support given to Ken. We would want you to remember Ken for the smile on his face, the twinkle in his eyes and the wave and wink that he gave to everyone. Dear Dad: Every wish thats made for you Is a warm and loving one. Filled with all the special thoughts Of all the things youve done. But the wish this note is bringing to you, Holds something more than the rest. The special pride thats always felt, For the father whos the best. Daughter, Donna WOJCIKS ALL BELIEFS & FAITHS FUNERAL CHAPEL & CREMATORIUM 897 - 4665
