EDITH MCNAUGHTON April 14, 1913 - October 6, 2004 Peacefully on Wednesday, October 6, 2004, mother entered into Eternal sleep at the age of 91 years. She will be lovingly remembered by her son Gary (Kathleen) daughter Treasure; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and brother Roy Smith (Kay) of Richmond, BC. Mother was born during austere conditions on a rural farm near Chatfield, MB on April 14, 1913. Throughout her life she faced many hardships and challenges, but she was a firm and determined person who rose to every opportunity. She resided in Winnipeg during her early years and upon the return of her husband from the war 1939/45, the family relocated to Fisher Branch, MB. It was during the early 1950s, her biggest opportunity arose and she was appointed postmistress of Fisher Branch General Post Office. Mother held this position for 28 years. On retirement she returned to Winnipeg. A private family inurnment will be held at a later date. Our family extends a heart felt thank you to the professional and compassionate staff of 4East.
