JULIA OSOWICZ (CIELICZKA) 1914 - 2004 It is with deep sorrow we announce the passing of Julia Osowicz at the age of 90 years into the arms of Jesus to her eternal rest. Left to cherish her memory is her loving husband Frank of 55 years; her daughter Betty, son-in-law Henry; granddaughters, Andrea and Lindsay; one cousin and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Julia was predeceased by her father Andrew in 1918, mother Maria in 1948; brothers, Walter in 1919, John in 1986 and Joseph in 1993. Julia was born and educated in Winnipeg at Margaret Scott School and Isaac Newton Collegiate. Julia was a longtime member of St. John Cantius Roman Catholic Church where she was active in youth activities and sang in the choir. After her marriage to Frank in 1951, they moved to the West End of Winnipeg and Julia worked for 20 years at Sears Polo Park. Julia and Frank moved to North Kildonan upon retirement to be closer to their daughter and family. Julia enjoyed many summers spent at their summer home in Whytewold with her daughter, son-in-law and grandchildren and going to church at Our Lady of the Lake in Winnipeg Beach. Julia enjoyed knitting baby outfits for her new granddaughters, babysitting for them as toddlers and teaching them cards, checkers and scrabble among other activities. Julias family loved her perogies and borscht and no one could make a roast like Julia. Julia loved her family and took great pride in watching her granddaughters grow into young women. The family would like to thank all Julias friends and relatives who visited her and expressed their support during her illness. A sincere thank you to the wonderful staff on the 7th and 8th floor at St. Boniface Hospital, Ward 3E Riverview and Jocelyn House Hospice. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, October 12 at 12:30 p.m. at Holy Redeemer Roman Catholic Church, 264 Donwood, with Rev. Fr. Wenceslao Rebillaco as celebrant. Viewing will precede mass by one half-hour at 12:00 noon. Interment will follow in Holy Ghost Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Bill Colborne, Howard Butler, Roy Smith, David Pike, Brian Bishop and David Bishop. Honorary pallbearers are Lindsay Ostapczuk, Donna Fogg, Barry Sefernack and Lawrence Seliski. Readers will be Rev. Protodeacon Michael Woroby and Deacon Paul Martin. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Julias memory to a charity of your choice. Well always love you and miss you Rest in Peace. CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 586-8044
