Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryCYRIL ZELICKSON It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Cyril Zelickson, beloved husband, father and grandfather, on October 11, 2004 at the St. Boniface Hospital at the age of 75. Cyril was born the only child to Celia and Harry Zelickson. He was raised in Hirsch, SK and in the late 1940s moved to Winnipeg, where he met the love of his life, Bessie Fleisher. They were married in 1952 after a short courtship of six months. In 1954 they had their first child, Ken and in 1961, their second child, Pamela. For most of his working years, Cyril was in the scrap metal business and for a good portion of that time he was working at Industrial Metals. Retirement was a difficult adjustment for Cyril as he was used to being busy for so many years. Cyrils greatest passion then became spending time with his grandchildren, which remained a very important part of his life. One of his great loves was working out with his friends at the Wellness Institute where he developed many life long friendships. Cyril had a heart of gold and a magnetic personality that attracted everyone who came in contact with him. Cyril leaves to mourn his loving wife, Bessie (nee Fleisher) son Ken (Magda), grandchildren, Michelle and Kory; daughter Pam Kowall (Howard), grandchildren, Sarah and Ira. As well as his sisters-in-law, Miriam Fleisher and Arlene Rusk and brothers-in-law, Sidney Fleisher and Michael Rusk. He also leaves to mourn many relatives and friends that he met along the way. Pallbearers were Kory Zelickson, Ira Kowall, Jonathon Holt, Arthur Maister, Sam Kupfer and Don Gibson. Honorary pallbearers were Sidney Fleisher, Joe Elfenbaum, Mort Greenberg and Sam Swire. The family would like to extend their deepest appreciation to the wonderful and caring staff at the St. Boniface Hospital for looking after Dad. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stoke Foundation, Childrens Wish Foundation or the charity of your choice.
