Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryROY TAYLOR 1919 - 2004 With great sadness we announce the passing of our father Roy Taylor on October 10, 2004 at Vista Park Lodge in Winnipeg. Roy was born in Brandon, MB on January 19, 1919 the youngest of six children born to John James Taylor and Dorothy nee Butters. He is survived by his daughter and two sons along with their families, Dorothy Johnson nee Taylor and Barry; Robert Taylor, Connie (Lucko) and Krista; Gerry Taylor, Rita (Foidart), Mike, David and Jason. Roy is also survived by his sister Daisy Packett; many brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews. Roy will be fondly remembered for his love, support, his ever present smile and sense of humour. He grew up in the east end of Brandon. After finishing school, Roy worked in a number of jobs before enlisting in the Canadian army. He served in Europe during the Second World War returning to Canada in January 1946. Roy worked for the Canadian National Railway from 1946 until his retirement in 1972. Roy enjoyed bowling, playing bingo and carpentry work. He built the familys first home in Brandon at 444 Percy St. with the help of his father-in-law Peter Sigurdson. He liked home improvement projects and especially loved to help his kids whenever they had projects to work on. Roy met his wife Helen nee Sigurdson at a dance held in the Y.M.C.A. They got married August 20, 1941 in Brandon. Roy, Helen and their three children moved to Winnipeg in the summer of 1960. Roy Taylor was predeceased by his wife Helen; grandson Grant Murzak; brothers, Bill and John; and sisters, Dorothy Farthing and Elsie Taylor. The family would like to thank everyone who cared for Dad especially the wonderful staff at Vista Park Lodge. A memorial service will be held on Friday, October 15, 2004 at 2:30 p.m. at Green Acres Funeral Chapel, Hwy. 1 E. at Navin Road.
