GORDON JOHN HARRISON March 11, 1922 - October 10, 2004 Gordon quietly passed away on Sunday morning at the Carman Memorial Hospital. Born near Herbert, SK, Gordon moved east to Manitoba where he met and married Eileen Roberts, his cherished wife of 58 years. Together they farmed and raised three children, Cliff (Janice), Bev (Doug Anseeuw) and Cheryl (Wayne McPherson). He is fondly remembered by his grandchildren, Deanna (Bruce), Jodi, Gavin, Marni (Darren), Garth, Blaine, Jason, Roberta, Ellen, Andrew; great-grandchildren, Brick and Brice; sisters, Irene, Vera, Pat (Al) brothers, Bob (Lorene), Dick, Murray (Merle) many nieces, nephews and friends. He was predeceased by his parents, Cecil and Pearl Harrison; brother Fred; and sister Gwen. Throughout his entire life he always enjoyed outside activities, whether it be calving season, harvest, yard work, or watching his grandchildren play hockey or show cattle. Gordon cared compassionately for the needs of others. His love of community, strong commitment to family and appreciation for life is the legacy he leaves behind. The family would like to extend their appreciation to those who visited and phoned Gordon during his brief stay in the hospital. Thank you to the staff of the Carman Memorial Hospital for their care and the staff at the Boyne Lodge for making him feel at home whenever he visited Eileen. A celebration of Gordons life will take place on Friday, October 15 at 10:00 a.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. A luncheon will follow at Domain Hall. Memorial donations may be made to Carman Hospital Palliative Care Unit, Box 610, Carman, MB R0G 0J0, or a charity of your choice.
