DOROTHY WOLK It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved mother and grand-mother, Dorothy Wolk, October 3, 2004 at the William Booth Special Care Home in Regina. Dorothy was the beloved wife of the late Mike Wolk and will be forever remembered by her two sons, Graham (Judy) Wolk and their children, Tracy (Jeff), Jennifer (Stephen), and Michael of Regina, and Dawson (Lynda) Wolk and their children, Dawson of Winnipeg and Cory (Peggy-Sue) of Abbotsford; seven great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Kennedy, Matthew, Tatum, Paige, Emily, and Jessica also survive her. Mom graduated from the University of Alberta with her Bachelor of Nursing Degree in 1941. She worked at nursing assignments across various parts of the western provinces until she met the love of her life, Mike Wolk, and started a family in 1943. In 1954, Mom again returned to nursing full time at St. Anthonys Hospital in The Pas and then the Winnipeg Health Sciences Centre in 1963 until her retirement in 1981. She loved nursing and was devoted to her craft having gained many friends and associates during this time. Mom was devoted to her family and continued to be a source of inspiration to her children and their extended families. She was supportive and active at school graduations, family events, and sporting activities especially when it involved the grandchildren. The family would like to express its gratitude to the staff of the William Booth Palliative Care Unit and especially to Dr. S. Leibel who showed great caring and compassion for our mother and the immediate family. Your caring and kindness touched us during this period of grief and sadness. Dr. Cline of the Pasqua Hospital Palliative Care Unit and Captain Barbara Brown of William Booth also assisted our mother during this time. Flowers are gratefully declined. Donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, 1910 McIntyre St., Regina, SK S4P 2R3 or to the William Booth Special Care Home, Grace Hospice Palliative Care Unit, 50 Angus St., Regina, SK S4R 8P6.
