The family of Gordon King is deeply saddened to announce his passing on October 11, 2004 in Langley, BC (formerly of Oakbank and Arborg) at the age of 67. Gordon was born on December 28, 1936 in Kamsack, SK to Stanley and Ethel King. He grew up and received his schooling in Togo, SK. He served 25 years in the RCMP, achieving the rank of Sergeant, after which he spent many years with Transport Canada before retiring. Gordon, along with his first wife Mary Lou, raised five children together. Gordon enjoyed camping with his family, hunting, building, working on his stain glass, gardening and spending time with his children. Gordon and wife Janice were married on August 18, 1990 in White Rock, BC, where they lived until moving to Langley. There, Gordon was a gentleman farmer, who also enjoyed golfing, hunting, travelling and spending time with his grandchildren. He was always willing to lend a hand to family and friends. Gordon is lovingly remembered by his wife Janice; children, Cathy King, Sandie King, Darren (Gail) King, Danny (Colleen) King, Jennifer (Paul) Nadon; former wife Mary Lou King; grandchildren, Michael and Brenden King, Tiffany and Gabrielle King, Tanner and Tristan Nadon, and Nicole Vickstrom; brother and sisters, Winnifred Koroluk, Maxine Lindsay, Ken (Doreen) King, Jean (Bill) Styranko, Sheila (Joe Bobinski) Hafenbrak; mother-in-law Violet Kimball; sisters-in-law, Pat (Graham) Watson, Lois Keiser, Kathy (Larry) Curtain; brother-in-law Terry Inglehart; many nieces, nephews and friends. A Celebration of Gords Life will be held at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd., Winnipeg, MB on Saturday, October 23 at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Manitoba or The Canadian Diabetes Association.
