Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJEAN ESTELLE BASLER On September 29, 2004 at Royal Columbian Hospital, New Westminster, BC after a 20 year battle with Parkinsons disease. Born August 21, 1928 at Brandon, MB to veterinary Dr. James W. Campbell and Margretta Campbell of Baldur, MB. Jean is survived by husband Clifford; daughter Susan Penty and husband Jim Penty; son Robert and wife Wendy; grandsons, Colin and Ian Penty; and a grandchild expected soon to Robert and Wendy. She is also survived by twin sister June Caverly and husband Ken of Vernon, BC, sister Marie Popham and husband Jack of Coquitlam and sister Peggy Olson and husband Norm of Yellowpoint, BC. Jean grew up in Baldur, Winnipeg and Killarney in Manitoba, married Cliff in 1949, then lived in Glenavon, Kipling and Regina in Saskatchewan, moved to British Columbia in 1955 and lived in Burnaby since 1958. Jeans working career started with the Bank of Toronto in 1945, where she became an accomplished ledger posting machine operator and subsequently worked at British American Oil Co., Canadian Liquid Air, Wolstencroft Agencies, Williams Moving and Storage, Lakeview Chrysler Plymouth and the Toronto-Dominion Bank. Jean was a trained singer and sang with church and other choirs over the years. She skated and was a curler and enjoyed boating with her family. She was one of the participants in a reorganization of Tillicum Seaside Resort at Yellowpoint in 1972, and had been involved there ever since. She will be well remembered by all who knew her. A memorial service was held on October 5. Interment was next to her parents at Valley View Memorial Gardens, Surrey, BC. Burquitlam Funeral Home 604-936-9987
