ROY RACHMAL RASCH It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Roy Rachmal Rasch on Saturday, October 16, 2004 at the age of 88 years. He was predeceased by his parents, Chana and Benjamin Rashcovsky. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Fay Rasch; his children, Michael Rasch (Audrey), Bernard Rasch (Nancy). Sisters, Cecile Hatskin, Claire Pudavick and Myna Simkin. Grandchildren, Jesse (Julie) Rasch and Chloe (Mark) Solarno. Janelle and Daniel and many nieces and nephews. Roy was born in Winnipeg on January 3, 1916. For many years he was a cattle buyer in the West. He served our country in the Second World War in the RCAF. He late worked for Bathurst and Consolidated Inc. which is now MBI Containers as a sales consultant. After 40 years he retired in 1994 at the age of 78 years. He was a leader in the corrigated industry for many years and won many prestige awards. In his retirement, he enjoyed walking a mile a day with his beloved husky (Lightning) and talking with all the neighbours. Dad as an active member of the Royal Canadian Legion (Monash Branch). Dad was a loving and dedicated husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend with a great passion for life. His words of wisdom will never be forgotten. Pallbearers will be Dr. Robert E. Diamond, Justin Diamond, Gary Lipkin, Robert Pudavick, Stewart Pudavick, Donny Swartz, Mark Solarno and Jesse Rasch. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 20 at 2:00 p.m. at the Shaarey Zedek Synagogue Cemetery (graveside). In memory of Dad if desired, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or any charity of your choice. "Memories are like threads of gold, they never tarnish or grow old."
