PJETUR OSCAR (CHUMMY) SIGURDSON October 3, 1911 - October 17, 2004 After a long and fulfilling life Chummy was reunited with his loving wife Eula. His family, friends and community will miss him. Throughout his life he pursued his love of hockey, sports, volunteering in the community and nurturing his family. His faith and dedication to the Lundar Lutheran Church was a cornerstone of his life. Dad will be lovingly remembered by his children, Ray (Judy), Ken (Peggy), Terry (Angeline) Hal (Janis), Cindy (Floyd) Thorkelson; and grandchildren, Lisa (James), Don (Colleen), Averil (Eldon), Todd (Jill), Terrill, Darren ( Michelle), Bryan (Kerry), Floyd Jr., Becky (Micheal), and Leif; and his great-grandchildren, Colin, Anthony, Shayne, Joshua, Hailey, Kate, Lexa, Zacharia and Levi. Dad was eagerly awaiting the birth of his latest great-grandchild, the child of Lisa and James. He will also be remembered by the families of Glenn Crave, Jean Christensen and the Eklunds. Also, by his little buddy Goo. Dad was predeceased by his wife Eula (nee Crave) parents, Audbjorg and Stefan; sisters, Hannah and Sadie; brothers, Eddie and Peter. Pallbearers will be Dads seven grandsons. Honorary pallbearers will be Floyd Thorkelson, Steini Palsson, Cal Bennett, Ray Petersen, Marvin Desjarlais, Stan Miller, Siggi Sigfusson, John Lavallee, Lloyd Erickson, Wayne Erickson and all his other many friends. A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, October 23 at 2:00 p.m. at the Lundar Lutheran Church, Lundar, MB with Pastor Nancy Walker officiating. A viewing will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment to follow in the Lundar Municipal Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Lundar Lutheran Church Memorial Fund or Grettir Amateur Athletic Association, Lundar, MB R0C 1Y0. The family would like to thank Dr. Burnet of Lundar, Dr. Haiart and Dr. Wong of Winnipeg for the wonderful care you gave our Dad. Thank you to Rev. Gerhardt and Pastor Nancy Walker for the kindness you showed, the staff of both the E.M. Crowe Memorial Hospital in Eriksdale and Seven Oaks Hospital in Winnipeg and the Lundar Ambulance Attendants.
