LAWRENCE SIKORA Peacefully, on Sunday, October 17, 2004, Lawrence Sikora, dearly beloved husband of Eileen passed away at the Beausejour Hospital at the age of 68 years. Left to mourn his passing are his loving wife Eileen of 47 years; his son Grant; his daughter Lorraine (Marv) two grandchildren, Marissa and Brenden; his mother Betty Sikora; his brother Edward (Shirley) his sisters, Gladys (Norman), Elsie (Ed), Kathy (Mac) his mother-in-law Laura Lavoie; his brothers and sisters-in-law; also many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father Paul Sikora. Dad was first employed at the age of 16 for Paul Lavoie Construction for two years. Then he began his life long commitment to his farm. During these years, he was also employed by the R.M. of Lac du Bonnet as a grader operator for 18 years. For the next 33 years, he was employed by Agassiz School Division as a School Bus Driver - a job he dearly loved and took great pride in. Dad was a special part of all of our lives. You could always tell when he walked into the room. He was a big man with a big heart who loved and welcomed the company of family and friends and always did his best to make them comfortable. You could always count on him for his help or just a laugh. Sometimes he even played the accordion for us. He also loved playing cards - these times were always precious to him. Recently, he became involved in table top curling, floor curling and bowling games which he enjoyed very much. Dad always maintained a great interest in his farm which now lives on in his son. Even after moving to town, he had to "come for a spin just to check-up" to make sure everything was kept up to his standards. He always held a special place in his heart for those who constantly lent a hand at the farm as well as at home and especially during his recent illness. Dad had many "Pride and Joys" in his life, including his loving wife and children but his greatest was his two grandchildren with whom he shared a close and wonderful relationship with. They loved spending time together and the kids were always amazed by grandpas wit and wisdom. They will forever keep his advice, humour and "funny sayings" in their hearts forever and already miss him more than words can say. According to his wishes, cremation has taken place and a Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, October 21 at 1:30 p.m. at the Notre Dame du Lac Roman Catholic Church, Lac du Bonnet, MB with Rev. Fr. Mirek Szynal the Celebrant. Interment will follow in the Lac du Bonnet Cemetery. Honorary Pallbearers will be all of his family and friends. The family wishes to thank Dr. D. Schmidt and the nursing staff at the Beausejour Hospital for their excellent care and compassion. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations in Lawrences memory may be made to the Manitoba Lung Association, 629 McDermot Ave. Winnipeg, MB R3A 0C8 "Dad, you were a great man and best buddy who touched all our lives in ways that only we know.
