ANNE KABAN 1908 - 2004 Peacefully, on October 19, 2004, at the Kildonan Personal Care Centre, our beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother Anne Kaban passed away with her family at her side. She leaves to cherish her memory her two daughters, Olga Tywonak and Pauline (Ed) Senkiw. She shall also be deeply missed by her granddaughter Bonnie Pike; and her great-granddaughter Meghan Pike. Also surviving is her sister Pauline Dowhopoluk; sisters-in-law, Nettie Marko and Helen Schmon; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers, John, Fred and Peter; and by her sister Mary. Anne was born February 10, 1908, in East Selkirk, MB. Her family later moved to Hamerlik, MB. There she met her future husband Bill and they married in 1926. The couple settled in Transcona where they lived all their life. Anne was a very devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, making her home a loving centre for her family and friends. She was an excellent seamstress, an excellent cook, and also enjoyed knitting. A private family service will be held on Friday, October 22 at 9:00 a.m. from the Transcona Funeral Chapel, 1800 Day St., with Chaplain Paul Martin officiating. She will be laid to rest at Transcona Cemetery beside her husband Bill who predeceased her in 1992. Pallbearers will be her nephews, Bill Dowhopoluk, Morris Kulbaba, David Kernaghan, Erne Marko, Russell Marko and John McCullough. The family wishes to express their sincere thanks for the care and comfort provided to mother over the past two years. In particular, we would like to thank Concordia Hospital, homecare at Gable Arms, Interim Care Misericordia, Wolseley 2, Kildonan Personal Care Centre and Dr. John Ormiston and Dr. John Regehr. Your patience, love and devotion to mother will long be remembered. Flowers gratefully declined. Should friends so wish memorial donations may be made to Kildonan Personal Care Centre. Vichnaya PamYat Transcona Funeral Chapel in care of arrangements.
