ERNEST NEUFELD On Tuesday, October 19, 2004 at the St. Boniface General Hospital in Winnipeg, MB, Ernie Neufeld, aged 65 years. Ernie is survived by his partner, Verna Richard, and her children, Sabrina and Rene; two daughters, Tammy (Randy) Fraser, and their children, Ali, and Dani; and Tracy (James) Harper and their children, Lindsay, Cara, and Cortney. He is also survived by one brother Peter Neufeld; and three sisters, Lena Somers, Lydia Hildebrand, Betty (Harry) Klassen; and numerous nieces and nephews. Ernie was predeceased by his parents, Abe and Anna Neufeld, two brothers, and two sisters. Ernie was educated at Wingham School and spent 30 years with CN retiring at the age of 52 years. Ernie had a strong sense of community and was dedicated to the Transcona Optimist Club where he spent many years of service including a term as president. Upon his retirement he returned to his roots in the Elm Creek district where he resided until his death. Ernie was always a hard worker and willing to lend a helping hand where needed. Ernie will be sadly missed by all who knew him. Funeral service will be held from the Elm Creek Cemetery, on Friday, October 22 at 12:00 noon with Pastor John Willems officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Childrens Wish Foundation, 25 Spadina Rd., Toronto, ON M5R 2S9 or to the Canadian Cancer Society, 193 Sherbrook St., Winnipeg, MB R3C 2B7.
