JULIETTE DENISE FULLERTON It is with great sadness that our family announces the passing of our mother, Juliette Denise Fullerton, on Thursday, September 16, 2004, at the age of 67 years following a courageous battle with cancer. Juliette was born in Carman, MB, on April 29, 1937, the first of three daughters born to George and Alice (Wery) Mestdagh. On October 29, 1955, Juliette married her first husband, Guy Delorme. Together they had one son, Darwin. Tragically, on October 11, 1962, Guy was killed in a traffic accident. It is said that we will only ever have one true love in our lifetime. This was not so for Juliette. On December 1, 1967, Juliette married her second true love, Clifford Fullerton. Together with Darwin, Cliffords three children, Rick, Ken, and Ernie, as well as the addition of three more children, Warren, Heather and Darrell, their family was complete. Following a move from Kenville to Brandon, MB, in 1976, Juliette and Clifford enjoyed 25 wonderful years of marriage until his passing on March 9, 1993. Juliette worked for 15 and one-half years as a health care aide at Central Park Lodge in Brandon, MB. Here she made lifelong friends. She took great pride in her work and had much compassion and respect for the residents. With a little more time following her retirement in April 2000, Juliette spent countless hours tending to her flower gardens. She loved working outdoors and every year the evidence of her "green thumb" would appear when her full vibrant flower gardens would burst with colour. Juliette loved to share her flowers and plants from her gardens; although, she would never give away her secret for growing such large, beautiful violets. Juliette also enjoyed knitting and crocheting, of which her children have treasured keepsakes, camping at the lake, cooking and entertaining. On holidays, the kitchen would be full of family and friends. Crowded, hot and loud, "Whats one more," Juliette would say. Juliette also had a great love for music: country, old-time, fiddling. She loved it all. With music came dancing - any kind of dancing. The kids would tease that they never knew where to find her, dancing for seniors in personal care homes or attending a dance in any little town in southern Manitoba. Even chemotherapy appointments had to be arranged around her dancing. Throughout Juliettes brave battle with cancer, her children saw what a tough and courageous person their mother was. Although the disease was taking its toll on her body, she was determined it would not break her spirit nor take away her pride or her dignity. She never complained, took what it gave her and persevered. We are so proud of you mom. We love you. Juliette is survived by her children, Darwin, Calgary, AB; Warren (Carolyn), Saskatoon, SK; Heather (John) Carmichael, Kenville, MB; Darrell (Maxine), Brandon, MB; Rick, Brandon, MB; Ken (Vi), Saskatoon, SK; Ernie (Susan) Cranberry Portage, MB; 10 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; sister Georgette (Wally) Einarson, Gimli, MB; and companion, Bill Wallace, Brandon, MB. Juliette was predeceased by her first husband, Guy Delorme; her parents George and Alice Mestdagh; second husband Clifford Fullerton; sister-in-law Evelyn Harris; father-in-law Ken Fullerton; and sister Jeanette Haresnape. Funeral service was held from Central United Church in Brandon, MB, on Monday, September 20, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. Pastor Ted Jannuska officiated. Pallbearers were Juliettes six sons: Darwin, Warren, Darrell, Rick, Ken and Ernie. Interment followed at Rosewood Memorial Gardens. If friends so desire, memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, 415 - 1st Street, Brandon, MB R7A 2W8, or to the Brandon Regional Health Centre Foundation, (Palliative Care), 150 McTavish Ave. E., Brandon, MB R7A 2B3. Messages of condolence may be placed at www.brockiedonovan.com. Arrangements were in care of Brockie Donovan, Brandon. Rest in Peace, Mom.
