Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemorySAMUEL LICHTMAN It is with deep sorrow that the family announces the sudden passing of our father, grandfather and brother on October 22, 2004, in his 89th year. Samuel was a holocaust survivor whose courage and ingenuity saved the lives of many loved ones. With typical humility, he said that he was no better than anyone else, just lucky. He loved life and cherished his family and friends. His sense of humour was legendary and he would beam with delight when yet anther person fell victim to one of his pranks. A carpenter by trade, he eventually became a grocer and owned and operated Nassau Grocery for many years. He loved people and he was always ready to help someone in need. Samuel was a member of the Rosh Pina Synagogue, now Congregation Etz Chayim, for over 50 years and often filled in as their cantor. His wonderful voice and passionate style made his chanting memorable. Samuel was predeceased by his beloved wife Sarah in 1978 and is survived by his children, Jack (Judy), Ed (Shelley) and Tobi Osman; grandchildren, Ronna (John), Jason (Laurel) and Mindy Lichtman, Craig and Sarah Osman; sister and brother-in-law Ellen and Dave Peltz; brother-in-law Aaron Yukelis, and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held on October 24. Pallbearers were, Mark and Josh Yukelis, Jason and Mindy Lichtman, Craig Osman and Harold Kaplan. We were truly blessed to have such a wonderful father, grandfather and brother in our lives. He will forever be remembered in our hearts. Donations in his memory may be made to the Congregation Etz Chayim or a charity of your choice.
