REBECCA (RUBY) MCCLEERY It is with great sadness that her family announces the death of Rebecca McCleery on October 21, 2004 at the Deer Lodge Centre at the age of 87 years. Rebecca is predeceased by her parents Richard and Elizabeth Hunter, her husband Frederick and her sister Jeanie. She will be sadly missed by her daughter Norma (Bill), son Ivan (Yvonne) and grandchildren, James (Tracey), Cameron, Erin, Jesse and her step-grandchildren, Janie, Richard and Nicole. Also left to mourn are her sisters, Anne and May (Gerald) and many nieces and nephews in N. Ireland and the U.S.A. and her special niece Joan (Ian) in Vancouver. Rebecca was born, raised and educated in N. Ireland. She and her husband Fred, moved with their children to Winnipeg in 1957. She was employed for many years by Eatons and later the Manitoba Health Services Commission. After retirement Rebecca chose to volunteer her time at the Grace General Hospital which gave her enormous pleasure and started many lasting friendships. The many ceramic gifts that her family still cherishes are testament to the great enjoyment Rebecca derived from making them and the love she gave to so many. The family would like to thank Mary-Jane and the staff at Arlington Haus for their loving care of Mum during her stay there. We are also indebted to the staff at Deer Lodge Centre on 2East, 3South and 7 West for the kindness and compassion they showed to Mum during her final years. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, October 26 at 1:00 p.m. in the Thomson Funeral Home, 669 Broadway. Interment will occur at a later date in N. Ireland. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations may be made in Rebeccas memory to the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba , 120 Donald Street, R3C 4G2. THOMSON Funeral Home - 669 Broadway - 925-1120
