JAMES HAROLD (SHAG) SHAUGHNESSY Shag was born on February 10, 1924, passed away on October 21, 2004, at the age of 80 years, was predeceased by his brothers, Vincent S.J., Gordon, Gerald; and sister Eleanor. He is survived by his devoted wife of 56 years, Helen (George-McNaughton) and his children, Donna (Paul) Duggan, Gary, Diane (Fred) MacDonald. He also leaves behind his grandchildren, Jennie, Megan and Sean MacDonald, Michael and Sarah Shaughnessy and Patrick, Laurie and Jennifer Duggan; and many nieces and nephews. Shag lived a full and happy life from his boyhood days in Ottawa, to his high school days at St. Pats College were he served as president, his football days with the Ottawa Rough Riders, and his accomplished business career including being the past president of the West Winnipeg Rotary club. Shag will mostly be remembered for his incredible and optimistic outlook on life. He has left his friends and family with many happy memories. In keeping with his giving nature, his wish was to donate his body to the University of Ottawa. Thank you to all the staff of St-Jacques Nursing Home for their special love and care. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the LAFLEUR & ROBERT FUNERAL HOME, 874 Notre-Dame, Embrun.
