LLOYD EMERSON KENT August 9, 1931 - October 23, 2004 Peacefully, with his family by his side, Lloyd Kent passed away at Grace Hospital at the age of 73. He was predeceased by his wife, Mary, in 1983. He will be lovingly remembered by sons, Robert (Kathy), Hayden (Donna), Gordon, all of Winnipeg; and daughter Kathy (George Sheppard), sister Audrey (Everett Clow), and sister-in-law Norva (Sterling Vessey) all of P.E.I.; numerous grandchildren; great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews; and long time companion of 21 years, Jean Tunstead and her daughters, Carol Dick, Cathie Rempel, Marilyn Doran and their families. Lloyd was born and educated in P.E.I. until he joined the Canadian Army in 1951 with the Royal Canadian Engineers. After his tour of duty in Korea, he took his release only to rejoin with the 3rd Regiment R.C.H.A. After his discharge in 1973, he worked for the St. James-Assiniboia School Division until his retirement in 1984. He was an avid bowler and horseshoe player winning championships in both. He spent many enjoyable years at Millers Campground at his trailer, "Kents Kozy Inn", with his friends and family. Lloyd was a 36 year member of ANAVETS Unit No. 303 and Unit No. 1, member of Charleswood Legion and the Korea Veterans Association where he recently received his 25 year bar. We thank the staff on 3 North at Grace Hospital for their care of Lloyd during his final days, and thanks to his many friends and comrades for their frequent visits and support. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to CancerCare Manitoba or a charity of ones choice in Lloyds memory. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held on Friday, October 29 at 1:00 p.m. at ANAVETS, Rockwood 303, at 341 Wilton St., with Rev. Gordon Shields officiating. Rest In Peace, my friend Thomson "In The Park" 925-1120
