DONNA ANN DESMARAIS (WOOD) (nee GIESBRECHT) October 14, 1941 - October 24, 2004 Peacefully on Sunday afternoon, Donna passed away at the Grace Hospital with her daughter by her side. All the living family members that remain on the earth are, her husband Fernie; daughter Kim (Ernie) and their son David; son Curtis (Gabriella) and their children, Avila, Xavier and Sasha; sister Barbara (Walter) Reimer; brothers, Bob (Cindy), Gary (Carolyn) nieces and nephews, Michael, Neil, Kelly, Holly, Jonathan, Zachery, Krystle, Kara-lynn; the children of her nieces and nephews, Shawn, Tyler, Jordon, Alex; and Fernies children, Bob (Nancy) and their son Paul, and Karen (Bernie) and children Kristen and Stephanie. Donna grew up in Carmen, moved to Winnipeg at the age of 19 and married Curtis Wood at the age of 23. She worked at various Manitoba government jobs and sang in the Manitoba Government Choir. In 1971, Donna moved to White Rock, BC where she stayed until 1981, when she returned to Winnipeg and continued working with the government, with the last department being the Law Courts. Donna and Fernie were married in 1991. We celebrate her life. It wasnt fair that she went first because we wanted to be there first to greet her with open arms. The family would like to thank the staff at the Grace Hospital for their care and compassion.
