ROBERT GORDON LOWRY December 20, 1915 - October 24,2004 With family present Gordon passed away peacefully at Portage La Prairie Hospital, October 24, 2004. He was born in Darlingford, MB on December 20, 1915. Gordon was a life member of The Royal Canadian Legion, and also the Fort Garry Horse Association. Gordon joined the Fort Garry Horse in 1939 and served in Europe during the Second World War, where he met his cherished wife Rita of 58 years. Gordon was predeceased by his wife Rita; sister Jesse; and brothers, Barney, Garnet and Ken. Gordon worked for Federated Co-op in Minto, Boissevain, Winnipeg, and Saskatoon where he retired after 32 years. Gordon leaves to mourn his two sons, Wayne of Edmonton, AB, Bruce and Ann of Winnipeg; and grandchildren, Chad, Jayson, Kent, Ryan, of Edmonton, and Chantel (Ron) and Sandy of Winnipeg; and great-grandchildren, Tatianna, Cole and Shelby. A memorial service will be held at Neil Bardal Inc., 984 Portage Ave. (entrance on Aubrey Street) at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, October 27. The family would like to express their thanks for the excellent care of Gordon while he lived at the Lions Prairie Manor, and the excellent care he received at the Portage Hospital Palliative Care Unit.
