Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryDAWN SWARTZ On October 25, 2004, passed away suddenly at her home at age 85. Dawn was predeceased by her husband David and her sister Jewel. She will be lovingly remembered by her sisters, Joy, Yvonne, Myrn (John), Gem (Victor) her sisters-in-law, Gert and Emily; and many nieces and nephews. A graveside service was held on Wednesday, October 27 at 11:00 a.m. at the Shaarey Zedek Memorial Park at 230 Armstrong (at Main) officiated by Mr. Bill Weissmann. There was a meal of consolation after the funeral at the Shaarey Zedek Synagogue, 561 Wellington Cres. Dawn was born in Winnipeg on November 2, 1918 and attended St. Johns High School. She had a strong interest in music and took an active role in Winnipegs music community through her playing, teaching, and support of the field. Her husband was a surgeon and they were very active in the medical community during his years of practice and teaching. Later in life, she developed her talent as a painter and was very productive in her artistic work. She was continually developing her skills as a painter and was attending courses and workshops into her 80s. Friends and family remember her as a gracious host and a wonderful conversationalist who was always interested in family, friends, reading, and the arts. In memory of Dawn, donations may be made to the charity of your choice. Her family would like to thank the staff of her residence for their support over the years and the staff at the Grace General Hospital for their thoughtful care.
