Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemorySTANLEY WALDEMAR BURDETT With deepest sorrow we regret to inform you of the passing of our husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who passed away accidentally on Wednesday, October 27, 2004 Stan was born on December 28, 1927 in Clarkleigh, MB and grew up there as well. As a young man, he worked at various jobs including being the grader operator in the R.M. of Coldwell for many years, and later was employed at the dew line as a heavy equipment operator/mechanic. He owned Imperial Bulk Oil in Lundar and this is where he met Edna Malcolm and they were later married on November 6, 1961 in Stonewall, MB. They resided in Lundar, MB all their lives and this is where they raised their family of two. Dad took great pride in his work and in his family. He was a jack-of-all-trades. Our Dad was a very honest man and had a great sense of humour. Though Dad was away working a lot, when with us, he instilled in us his great sense of humour, good work ethics and an infectious love for life. In his younger years Stan was very active in the community. Volunteering in many organizations, some including being a founding member of the Miss Interlake Pageant and the Lundar Bull Sale. He spent 13 years as the Secretary/Treasurer and still presided as President for over 12 years at the Lundar Bull Sale. He was also active in the Grettir, Ag Society, Elks, and coached the Lundar Falcon hockey team, and was on the local ambulance service. Stan has spent the last 30 years travelling all over northern Canada with the Northwest Company. Many young people looked up to Stan as a mentor and a teacher, as he encouraged them to find work in all types of trades. His patience, generosity, kindness, love and the smell of his pipe will always be remembered by his family and his many friends throughout the countryside. His story-telling will be missed by his family and friends. Stan had an incredible style of penmanship with calligraphy that was admired by many. We will remember Stan for his favourite saying; If you wish. He will be sadly missed by his wife of 43 years Edna; and their children, Tannis, and Marc (Wendy) grandchildren, Pamela, Kiandra, and Natalie, great-grandchildren, Sedona and Kiyahna. Also surviving Stan is his sister Louise (Eddy), Fred, Ken (Agatha), sisters-in-law Pat, Rose, Flo, Edna, Irene, Etta, Margaret and Marion. Stan was predeceased by his parents Bert and Grace, brothers and sisters Francis, Frank, Jack, Ted, Dave, Joe, Jim and Charlie; mother-in-law Elizabeth and father-in-law Charlie. At Stans request, cremation has taken place and all are welcome to attend a graveside service at the Lundar Cemetery at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, November 1, 2004 with Pastor Bill Watson officiating. Lunch to follow at the Lundar Legion Hall. Honorary pallbearers for Stan will be all his nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Stans memory to a charity of ones choice.
