E. EILEEN BURGESS 1919 - 2004 It is with deep sorrow that the family of Eileen announce her passing on Friday, October 29, 2004 at Deer Lodge Centre. Eileen was predeceased by her husband Wilf, brother Harvey and sister Freda. Left to mourn are her children, son William (Bill) daughters, Roberta and Cathie (Keith McDowell) sisters, Lorena (Bill Lyle), Phyllis Mitchell, Adrienne (Jim Macpherson), Dorothy Jones; grandchildren, Kyle and Kelsey McDowell, who affectionately called her Maam; and sisters-in-law, Evelyn and Edna Burgess. Eileen was born in Maryfield, SK. She enlisted in the army (C.W.A.C.) becoming among the first women to be sent overseas during the war. Eileen was a devoted mother/grandmother with a great sense of humour and quick wit. Her thoughtfulness, generous spirit and fabulous cooking will be greatly missed. The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff at Charleswood Care Centre (March to June 2004) for their care and support In addition, we would like to thank the staff at Deer Lodge Centre for their attentiveness to Mom, as well as the thoughtfulness and support they gave the family during this difficult time. It was greatly appreciated. Cremation has occurred and a memorial service will be held on Tuesday, November 2 at 11:00 a.m. in Thomson Funeral Home, 669 Broadway.
