He was predeceased by his wife Lillian in 1968 and by five brothers and four sisters. Nick was born on December 16, 1914 in St. Michael, AB. He graduated from Alberta College in 1935 and was employed by National Fruit Co. until 1941 when he enlisted in the R.C.A.F. At that time, he graduated as an accredited public accountant and moved to Winnipeg in 1950, to open his own accounting firm, N. Strashok & Co., which he operated until his retirement in 1980. During this time, he served on various boards and committees in the business and church communities. In 1976, he purchased a farm in Tolstoi, MB and enjoyed the next 20 years getting back to his roots. In 1996 he moved to the town of Vita, MB where he spent his remaining years, very independent and still driving to the Can-Am Cafe to meet his friends for coffee and conversation. Our family would like to extend our sincere thanks and appreciation to the nurses and staff of Vita Hospital for their kindness and wonderful care of our father for the past three months.
