ROBERT CHARLES TAYLOR November 9, 1946 - October 28, 2004 Peacefully on October 28, 2004 after a long and courageous battle with cancer, Robert passed on with his loving family and friends at his side. Roberts memory is cherished by his beloved Hildi; his precious girls, Jennifer (David), Megan (Andrew), Allison (Andre) the sunshine of his life, his granddaughter Sierra; his brother Doug (Irene) all of his extended family and friends, and his faithful side-kick, his dog Kodi. He was predeceased by his mother, father and mother-in-law. Robert was born and raised in Winnipeg, graduated from Gordon Bell, then obtainted his B.A. and later his B.Ed. Degrees from the University of Manitoba. He taught in Gilbert Plains for three years then returned to Winnipeg and joined the History Department at Dakota Collegiate where he spent 35 years influencing many, many lives, personally and educationally. Robert took teaching very seriously and his students meant everything to him. He received many awards for his accomplishments throughout his career. He enjoyed his time at the farm and the lake (basking in the sun with a Corona), his weekend "swap-shop" visits, his jazz and Turner Classic movies. The family would like to thank the Oncology and D-6 staff at the Health Sciences Centre for their care and compassion during his illness. Donations may be made to CancerCare Manitoba Research Department. Funeral service will be held Monday, November 1 at First Mennonite Church, Notre Dame and Alverstone at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Kathy Koop officiating. Service will end at the church with private family interment following. Chapel Lawn Funeral Home in care of arrangements. WE WILL NEVER FORGET YOU POPS!!!
