JOHN THOMAS MILLS Peacefully in his 96th year on October 28, 2004 at the Grace Hospital. The oldest son in a family of eight, Jack was raised on a farm in Eriksdale, Manitoba. After a variety of jobs during the Depression years, Jack enlisted with the Canadian Army at the outbreak of The Second World War and served overseas. Returning to Winnipeg, he worked at the CNR Transcona Maintenance Shops until his retirement in 1973. He is survived by his wife Barbara; his children, Fred Mills, Reg Mills, Bruce and Jackie Mills, Bernard and Cheryl Freeman, and Anne and Gordon Williams; grandchildren Lisa and Amanda Mills, Vincent and Jennifer Freeman, Jonathan Williams, and Genevieve and Walter Richie; and great-grandchildren Eden and Jubilee Ritchie. He was predeceased by his first wife, Marge. A private family memorial service has been planned. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Grace Hospital Foundation, 300 Booth Dr. Winnipeg, MB R3J 3M7.
