Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryCHARLOTTE (LOTTIE) MATHISON Peacefully on October 29, 2004 Lottie passed away at Birch Lodge in Hamiota, MB at the age of 92. Her memory will be cherished by her children: Marilyn (Reg Newell), Evelyn (Jim Dixon), Ed (Marsha) and Earl; grandchildren: Sandra (Kelvin Biberdorf), Garth Newell (Cheryle), Jennifer (Paul Piasecki), Bruce Dixon (Cheryl), Brett Dixon, Megan (Cam Johnson), Sara and Laura Mathison; great-grandchildren: Julie, Kenzie and Connor Piasecki, Lane, Ethan and Brock Newell and Evan Dixon. Lottie was born in Blythe, ON moving to Salmon Arm, BC as a young child. She was the tenth of a family of 11. In 1933 Lottie travelled to Hamiota to help out family there meeting Bruce and they were married in 1937. Together they worked the family farm until Bruces death in 1979. Lottie moved to town a year later. Lottie was always a hard worker helping with the numerous chores along with providing a warm and welcoming kitchen to friends and family. Lottie was very active in the community supporting minor sports, curling, hockey and baseball and was one of the most senior participants at the Hamiota pool and shuffle league. She was a member of the UCW and contributed annually to the Hamiota fair. The grandchildren will always remember the laughter in her speech and the warmth in her hugs. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Hamiota United Church would be appreciated. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 3, 2004 at Hamiota United Church.
