Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryIRVIN FREDERICK WILDE Passed away peacefully at the Neepawa Hospital on Sunday, October 31, 2004, Irvin Wilde, aged 89 years, formerly of Plumas, MB. Irvin was born in Souris, MB and as a very young child moved with his family to Oakbank, MB where his father was a dairy farmer. As a young teen he spent precious time with John and Jane Kruger of Oakbank. He later moved to Plumas, MB where he met and married Ruth (Pat) Fischer, his wife of 57 years. Together they raised six children. Throughout his life Irvin faced many challenges and pursued many different livelihoods. Some of these were dairy farming, logging, road and dam construction, grain farming and general mechanical work. He took great pride in his work and was very well known throughout the rural area. It would not be out of the ordinary to stop in any evening and find the kitchen table turned into a work bench. A man of many interests, he thoroughly enjoyed sports and loved watching any local sporting activity, reading, watching TV, and sharing stories of days gone by. Anyone who ever travelled with him would know that you always had to stop for a hot coffee, pie and ice cream no matter how long or short the trip. Just ask any of his grandchildren. A very kind and gentle man, Irvin had a very special place in his heart for animals and could never stand to witness any cruelty to animals. Mother always said that when the family left after a visit, Father would stand with tears in his eyes for several minutes, hoping they would come right back. Now we are left with tears in our eyes as Father has left us to join Mother in a more peaceful place. Irvin will be sadly missed, but not forgotten by his family and friends alike. Irvin was predeceased by his wife Ruth (Pat) granddaughter Kimberly; his parents, Charles and Elizabeth Wilde; stepmother Hulda Wilde; brothers, Dan and Karl; and sister-in-law Linda. Left to cherish his memory are four daughters, Beverly Wilde of Winnipeg, Debbie and Cliff Wirth of Winnipeg, Lori and John McIntyre of Calgary and Jane and Bruce Gehlert of Winnipeg; two sons, Wesley and Sherry Wilde of Saskatoon, and Floyd and Louise Wilde of Winnipeg; ten grandchildren, Nicole and Shawn, Greg and Tracy, Allyson and Ashley, Kristen and Scott, and Hailey and Savannah. Also surviving is stepbrother Lloyd and Joyce Wilde; two stepsisters, Muriel and Arwyn Adam and Myrtle and Ron Breedin; sister-in-law Mary Wilde; as well as many other sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. A memorial service will be held on Friday, November 12 at 1:00 p.m. at the Plumas Cemetery, Plumas, MB with Rev. George Cargo officiating. Honourary pallbearers will be Greg Wilde, Shawn Wirth, Dennis Wilde and Dwight Wilde. If friends so desire, memorial donations may be made to Manitoba Heart and Stroke Foundation, 200 - 6 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB R3L 0K6. Irvins family would like to thank the staff at Neepawa Hospital and East View Lodge for the compassionate care given to their father. Also many thanks to Drs. Chapman and Ong. Fond are the ties that are broken, Dear is the one that is gone, In memory we shall keep him As long as the years roll on. As we loved him, so we miss him, In our memory he is dear Loved, remembered, longed for always, Bringing many a silent tear. "In silence we remember."
