MARIE LOUISE (MARY) DAMMAN Peacefully, with her family by her side, Marie Damman passed away at the River East Personal Care Home on November 1, 2004, at the age of 95 years. Left to cherish Maries memory are son Des Pattyn (Marie) daughter Mary Sugden (Ron) ten grandchildren, Doug Pattyn (Kathy), Brian Pattyn (Pauline), James Pattyn (Ann-Marie), Sharon Gilmer (Rick), Donna Gaudard (Denis), Debbie Greenaway (Glen), Janice Chalmers (Brad), Gwen Christensen (Todd), Karen Bousquet (Tim), Ron Sugden (Suzanne) as well as 19 great-grandchildren. Marie was born on June 2, 1909 in Belgium and immigrated to Canada in 1915 where she spent the majority of her life in St. Boniface. Marie led a full life with many friends, and was very dedicated to her family as family gatherings were very important to her throughout her entire life. She also enjoyed knitting and playing bingo. During her time at the River East Personal Care Home, Mom developed a special friendship with Ronnie Laliberte, who will miss her greatly for they had many fun times together. A funeral service celebrating Maries life will be held on Friday, November 5 at 11:00 a.m. in the Edward J. Coutu Funeral Chapel, 680 Archibald St. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to the staff of the River East Personal Care Home, especially Andrea, Bev, and Eileen for their dedicated care and attention to Mom.
