Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryGLADYS MAUD LAMSDALE (nee GRIFFITHS) It is with great sadness that the family announces on November 1, 2004, at the age of 86, Gladys peacefully passed on at Poseidon Care Centre. She was a devoted wife of 37 years to Arthur (who had predeceased her in 1980) a loving mother to Jan (Danny) Warwaruk and David (Diane) Lamsdale; and a wonderful nanny to Scott, Shauna and Robyn Warwaruk and Allison and Tracy Lamsdale. She is also survived by sister-in-law Mary Griffiths in Newport, South Wales; numerous nieces and nephews in Wales and fondly remembered by niece Jeannie and J.J. Mulcahy in New York. Gladys was born and raised in Newport, Gwent, South Wales. She immigrated to Canada in 1945 as a wartime bride. Once she arrived in Canada, Gladys worked for the Canadian Postal Service for over 29 years. She was a lifetime member of the Royal Canadian Legion Imperial Vets and the Fort Garry Legion (Unit 60). Gladys was also a member of the Billy Mosienko Bowling Lanes for over 25 years. Gladys had a great sense of humour and brought smiles to the faces of everyone she met. Gladys found joy in lifes simple pleasures. She was always ready for a good bowling game, an episode of Coronation Street, a fun game of bingo, a cup of tea, spending time with the various animals she adored in her life, or a really good joke. A celebration of Gladys life will take place on Saturday, November 6 at 1:00 p.m. in Thomson "In the Park" Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivray Blvd. The family would like to thank the entire staff of Poseidon Care Centre for their care and compassion and Dr. Kevin Coates for the many years of caring for Gladys.
