MARIA DOS REIS MONIZ Peacefully on Monday, November 1, 2004, at St. Boniface General Hospital, our loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and dear friend passed away in the afternoon with her family by her side at the age of 86 years. Maria Dos Reis Moniz is held in loving memory by her brother Jose Claudio (Alexandrina) her children, Manuel (Maria Clara), Jose (Theresa), Mariano (Estefania), and Conceicao (Jose) grandchildren, Rodney, Robert, Kevin, Eric, Dino, Michael, Ricky, Mark, Jason, Cory, Steven and Andrew, great-grandchildren, Jasmine and Austin; extended family, friends and caregivers. Her husband Manuel Moniz; her brothers Manuel and Mariano Claudio predeceased her. Maria Dos Reis Moniz was born and raised in Sao Miguel Acores. She immigrated to Canada in 1964, where she enjoyed a very rewarding life; she lived her many years to the fullest and in this inspired many. "Vavo" cherished her grandchildren and great-grandchildren that brought her great joy. She always took pleasure in spending time with her family, friends, baking, shopping and gardening. Prayers will be held on Friday, November 5, at 7:00 p.m. in the Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church, 181 Austin St., Winnipeg. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, November 6 at 10:00 a.m., with Rev. Fr. Jose Eduardo Medeiros celebrating. Interment to follow in Assumption Cemetery. A sincere thank you is extended to the staff at St. Boniface General Hospital for their care, kindness and compassion. "It broke our hearts to lose you; however, you did not go alone.
