Beatrice was born October 13, 1931 in Arborg to Bjorn and Lara Sigvaldason. She lived for many years in Arborg and later in Selkirk and Riverton. She leaves to mourn her passing one brother Einar (Alda) eight sisters, Inga (Richard) Rothe, Anna Ihorarinson, Gudrun Johannson, Kristiana (Alder) Clark, Thordis Wilson, Valdine (Neville) Prentice, Olaf Sigurdson, Margaret (Eric) Rasmusson; sisters-in-law, Lillo Johnson, Sigga and Helen Sigvaldason; many nieces and nephews and special friend Sveinbjorg Bjornson. Beatrice was born into a large, loving and caring family who always had Beatrices best interest at heart. Due to health problems, she found life difficult at times. She knew what life could offer and it wasnt always attainable for her under the circumstances but she also had lots of happy times. She especially appreciated her years at Riverton Lodge. Beatrice loved classical music. She was also gifted with a remarkable memory and a love of flowers. She wrote numerous short stories of events in her life. Our sincere thanks to Dr. Lindenschmidt, the wonderful staff at Red River Place and Selkirk General Hospital and numerous care givers over the years. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Arborg and District Multicultural Historical Village re: Sigvaldason Home Restoration Project. A memorial service will be held at Ardal-Geysir Lutheran Church in Arborg on Thursday, November 4 at 2:00 p.m. Trudy Thorarinson officiating. MacKenzie Funeral Home in care of arrangements.
