ELIN BJARNASON- WEST (nee OLSON) On October 28, 2004, Elin Bjarnason-West, aged 89 years, of Cupertino, CA and formerly of Winnipeg. Elin was born on August 1, 1915 daughter of the late Paul and Margaret Olson. She lived her early years in Gimli, then moved to Winnipeg in the early 1940s. She moved to California in 1965 and operated her own flower shop in Redlands for some 20 years. Elin was predeceased by her first husband, Eggert Bjarnason in 1980; her daughter Leona Marshall in 1995; her second husband Archie West in 2001; sisters, Olga, Paula, Jona, Margaret and Alma; and a brother Roy. She leaves surviving two daughters, Judy (Jim) Parsons of Cupertino and Patricia (Jerry) Boyko of Winnipeg; five grandsons, Craig (Sandy) Scofield of Indiana, Stephen (Nece) Scofield of Texas, Dan (Colleen) Boyko, Tom (Kim) Boyko and Tyrone Boyko, all of Winnipeg; 12 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; also two brothers, Paul and Ted Olson of Gimli; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, November 4 at 1:00 p.m. in the Gimli Lutheran Church with Pastor George Johnson officiating. Viewing for one hour prior to service. Interment in the Gimli Community Cemetery. Gilbart Funeral Chapel, Gimli in care of arrangements.
